Hi there,

First, an apology. I’m sorry! I have been remiss and way off my weekly-post game the last couple of months.

The reason is because I have been working on my first downloadable study guide, the Exam Study Survival Kit.

Study Notes is one of the 8 sections covered in the Exam Study Survival Kit.

I am putting on the finishing touches, and hope to have it all ready by next week.

Thank you for sticking by me without my usual regular posting — I hate not being able to post every week but with three young kids and other work, I’m working on the Exam Study Survival Kit in the evenings and weekends.

I will be sharing more details about the Exam Study Survival Kit very soon (like, later this week), but in the meantime, let’s talk about exams and my offer of recompense.

Exams are…. close

If you’re down in Aotearoa New Zealand with me, NCEA exams start four weeks today. I know. That’s crazy. You can access the official exam timetable here (snippet below). Hopefully your teen has at least started to think about starting their exam study…

And if you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, end of year exams aren’t far away either.

Free help on demand

I want to offer up as much help as I can, so for the rest of this year, I’m offering 1 on 1 help free of charge.

It’s the least I can do to say thank you for being one of my earliest subscribers!

It might just be a quick question you have, or you might want to jump on Zoom to nut it out, but whatever it is, from organisation to essay writing, maths, science and exam prep, I have been tutoring and helping teens with their study since 2010, and working 1 on 1 is my favourite part of this hobby, so if your teen is struggling with something, reach out. I’m here to help.

You can contact me anytime — email me clare@cramlab.org, message me on Facebook Messenger, DM me on Instagram, or text me on WhatsApp — +64212256833.

Follow me :)

I have very mixed feelings about social media, but one benefit is that it can make it easier to communicate with you (yay!), so if you haven’t already you can keep up with study tips for your teen on Facebook and Instagram. At the very least it’s a really easy way for me to dripfeed study tips into your teen’s brain!

Getting exam ready

I will be covering exam prep a lot over the next few months as your teens get stuck into their exam study, but to kick off, there are two documents I highly recommend you share with your teen (and help them fill out if they want) if you haven’t already.

#1 - My Subject Map Template

Here’s a previous post on why Subject Maps are such a life-saving exam study tool.

#2 - My Exam Study Timetable Template

Here’s a previous post on the magical powers of using an Exam Study Timetable.

Both are totally free, and you can download both right now over at cramlab.org/free-downloads.

These documents will provide the map and compass your teen needs to guide them through their exam study. They were two of my all time favourite exam study tools.

Thank you for reading Cram Lab. This post is public so feel free to share it.

Thank you

And finally, I want to thank you very much for subscribing — it means so much that you have taken the time to subscribe and let me pop into your Inbox each week (usually!). I know how choosy I am these days about what I subscribe to (Inbox anxiety!!!), so thank you so much.

I hope in return I can help your teen unlock their academic potential and get the grades they’re actually capable of.

Thank you.

Clare
